Oliver Solberg continues the march towards WRC 2022 and does it in the best way. This morning the Swedish driver announced that he will race behind the wheel of a WRC Plus car at the ACI Rally Monza Italia, the last round of the 2021 World Rally.
Solberg, who from next year will race part-time in the third official i20 N Rally1 of the Hyundai Motorsport team, will be behind the wheel of an i20 Coupé WRC Plus managed by the 2C Compétition team in the last event of the season.

“For me it will be great to be able to drive this car in its last event ever, moreover in a rally in which I have some experience after finishing second in WRC2 and seventh in the overall standings of the past edition,” said Solberg.
With the presence of Solberg in the 2C Compétition team, it remains to be seen if the team will want to field a second i20 as happened at the Rally of Spain Catalunya RACC with Nil Solans or if, instead, Solberg will be the only driver to be employed in the last event. of the season.
Recall that Pierre-Louis Loubet will also be forced to miss the last WRC 2021 event due to the hip fracture he sustained a few weeks ago. The Corsican native driver had been hit by a car in central Paris and is currently in rehabilitation to try and be ready for next season.
