From the Principality to Scandinavia
The climate changes completely in the second round of the World Rally Championship, scheduled for this weekend on the snowy Swedish routes. A test that will begin on Thursday 15 February, and in which Thierry Neuville will try to reconfirm the excellent performance put in place in the first round of this championship, where the Belgian Hyundai driver took home full spoils with the new scoring system introduced this year.
The expected news
About the Hyundaithe Korean company will present itself in Sweden with the new livery of the i20 N Rally 1, in a round that will also see the return to the scene of the reigning world champion Kalle Rovanperä. The Finn, who has decided to compete in the world championship part-time this year, will return to the wheel of his Toyota. Seasonal debut also for Esapekka Lappi, with the Estonian Ott Tänak who will in turn try to regain the Swedish rally after the victory achieved last year in a good fight with the late Craig Breen, in what was his last participation before the tragic passing.
The entire second round of the season will be available as usual with the subscription to Rally TV, the official channel of the category visible in streaming on the competition website. At the same time, Sky Sport will broadcast four special tests: the first ever on Sky Sport F1, with the tenth and thirteenth on Saturday 17 February on both Sky Sport 1 and Sky Sport Max. Both channels (as well as Sky GO and NOW TV in streaming) will finally offer live coverage of the Power Stage, the final act of the Swedish rally.
