According to Thierry Neuville, everything is fine at Hyundai to continue the work even without a permanent team principal.
At the beginning of December, Andrea Adamo left the role for personal reasons after six years in office, in which he won the 2019 and 2020 WRC constructors’ titles.
The President of the Korean company, Scott Noh, will take the place temporarily abandoned by the Piedmontese engineer, while the team is preparing for the debut of the new i20 Rally1 at the Rallye Monte Carlo at the end of January.
Hyundai has remained silent regarding a possible successor to Adam, but Neuville is confident that it can continue without too much difficulty.
“We have a person ready to take on some of the responsibilities – Neuville told Motorsport.com – Everyone knows what theirs are to take on and what needs to be done. It’s all right to continue the work as we did before.” .
“I think the top management will take their time to choose the right replacement for Andrea”.

In the days leading up to Adam’s departure, Neuville had had a bad accident during a test in France, with the i20 crashing into a ravine.
The Belgian is back behind the wheel after a few days of rest to prepare for the new 2022 season.
“The car is completely different in many ways. It is interesting, although there are a lot of unknowns for all of us as to how these cars will perform,” he added speaking to WRC.com after the last test.
“There are so many things to question with these Rally1 cars. Basically everything is new and not only with this car compared to the old one, but also compared to a benchmark like the i20 WRC was.”
