World Medical Association Chairman Frank Ulrich Montgomery predicted annual COVID-19 vaccinations. His words lead TASS citing newspapers of the German editorial group Funke.
“Revaccination boosts the immune defense. But we don’t yet know exactly how long it will last. Maybe we need to repeat it every year, ”said Montgomery.
It has turned out for time-limited vaccination certificates that would become invalid if the person did not get the booster shot on time.
The interview was published after reports of the emergence of a new strain of coronavirus. The species code B.1.1.529 was identified in South Africa on 11 November. The first confirmed cases of infection date from November 24. The strain was named with the Greek letter “omicron” and has already managed to recognize its danger at the level of the World Health Organization.
