A 27-year-old Brazilian woman was detained at Manchester airport with 100 acorns cocaine after being discovered for her own zeal when it came to prove that he had nothing to hide.
As reported this Saturday by Daily Mirror, Larissa Lins27, was intercepted at Manchester airport after arriving by plane from her country.
He insisted that he had traveled to the United Kingdom to “investigate nice places”, having previously passed through France and Portugal. To reinforce her story, the woman took out her cell phone to show photos of her trip.
The prosecutor in the case, David Toal, told the Mirror details: “She offered her phone to show the officers pictures she had taken in France, and as they watched, The officers saw images of white ballswhich they suspected were cocaine.”
“The accused was arrested and confessed that she had cocaine pellets inserted inside her body since the previous day. She was taken to the Wythenshawe Hospital where, in several stages, it expelled all the internal pellets,” Toal said.
Upon further inspection of Lins, officers discovered more cocaine hidden in the inner lining of her bra. In total, they confiscated 99 acorns, with a total weight of 1.1 kilos with the packaging and 923 grams without it.
The court heard that the wholesale price of this quantity of class A drug was estimated at around €36,000, while the street value was approximately 87,000 euros.
Lins, who has no fixed address and has four children, has been sentenced to three years in prison. According to the Mirror, will be deported back to Brazil after serving 40% of his sentence, that is, after 14 and a half months.
