Italian Roma ranked as the most effective team this season in the five major European leagues, in converting the percentage of shots from expected goals into actual goals against opponents, at 52%, according to specialized statistics from the global “WeScout” website for this season’s matches.
This percentage comes for Roma, which reflects that the percentage of goals scored by teams is much higher than the expected percentage, as the statistic calculates shots, during the course of the matches, without taking into account penalty kicks, and witnessed the presence of Inter Milan in second place with a percentage of 44%, the English Arsenal 43%, and Bayern. Munich, Germany, 36%, and Bayer Leverkusen, Germany, 35%.
Spain's Valencia came sixth with 34%, Germany's Mönchengladbach 28%, Spain's Girona 27%, France's Paris Saint-Germain, and Germany's Eintracht Frankfurt 26%.
While a number of teams kept pace with their expected percentage, with Spanish Real Madrid, for example, having only a 7% difference between expected and actual goals, Barcelona came with a percentage of negative 18%, as it scored a lower percentage of expected goals for shooting opportunities so far.
