Gedlich Racing is expanding the landscape of the popular Winter Series for the 2025 season: for the first time, two true endurance races for GT cars will be held over a 6-hour distance.
The venues of the new championship format are the circuits of Portimao (Portugal, from 20 January to 2 February 2025) and Barcelona (Spain, from 13 to 16 March 2025).
With rigorous entry criteria that focus on the fastest cars from the top GT championships, the 6-hour races are the ideal platform for both experienced teams competing at the highest levels of global endurance racing and those taking their first steps in endurance events.
Qualifying for the race will take place on Saturday, while the 6h will take place on Sunday. The program has been designed to allow racing until sunset on the weekend, to offer participants a true endurance experience.
The class format for the 6-hour races is based on the existing GT and GT4 series. GT3, TCR and M240i/M2 CS Cup vehicles are allowed in the premier class and other classes for GT2 racing cars, plus cars from the Porsche, Lamborghini and Ferrari single-brand cars.
GT4s and Porsche Cayman GT4 CSs are also permitted, but cars below this performance level will not be accepted. Other vehicles that fall within the 6-hour race performance window, but are not defined by the aforementioned classes and championships, may start in the Cup X class.
As the focus is on GT cars, LMP3s will continue to compete exclusively in the Prototype Winter Series. In the two 6-hour races in Portimao and Barcelona, in addition to the overall winners, the winners of the respective classes will also be rewarded.
