Roua is the 34-year-old woman brutally killed by her ex-husband: the man had a restraining order for domestic violence
Feminicides do not stop. The latest victim is Nabi Wheel34 years old. She lost her life due to stab wounds inflicted by her ex-husband during the night between Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 September, in the Barriera di Milano neighborhood. The woman, mother of two children, aged 12 and 13, was attacked outside her home by her ex-partner, a 48-year-old man. Despite the latter having a restraining order and wearing an electronic bracelet, imposed by the authorities for previous episodes of domestic violence.
According to the first reconstructions reported by Republicthe 48-year-old, a worker, violated the restrictions without the device electronic surveillance gave off any warning signals. The violence erupted shortly after midnight. The man, from whom Roua had decided to separate precisely because of the continuous violence, showed up in front of the house where the woman lived with her two children.
Some neighbors say they often heard arguments between the two, a sign of tension that remained high even after the separation. On the night of the murder, several people in the building heard screams coming from the street.
“They argued often, but I didn’t understand their language and I didn’t know what they were talking about. I regret not having intervened earlier, I would have liked to have done something.”
Unfortunately, the first aid of the neighbors, who tried to stop the hemorrhagewere in vain. The woman, rushed to the Giovanni Bosco hospital, died shortly after arrival.
While the tragedy was taking place, the couple’s two children were at home. The eldest son, 13 years old, chased his father in tears, asking passers-by for help, while his younger sister knocked on neighbors’ doors. The Carabinieri of the Turin mobile radio unit managed to stop the 48-year-old shortly after, while he was trying to escape. The man, arrested and taken to prison, will be questioned by the PM Joseph Drammis to clarify the details of the femicide. Investigators must understand why the electronic bracelet did not work, allowing him to approach the victim.
Roua had lived for years in an environment marked by violence and control by her husband. On her social profile she shared shots of her daily life with her children, trying to protect them from that reality of pain and fear. Separation had been her escape from a toxic relationship, but fate wanted otherwise.
Roua, who had been living alone with her children for some time, hoped to be able to start a new life away from threats and abuse. Unfortunately, the ogre came knocking on her door again, leaving death and pain in his wake. Now the two children are in a protected community, under the care of social services.
