The Electoral Institute of Mexico City (IECM) reported, shortly after midnight on Monday, June 3, that Clara Brugadacandidate of Morena, is the virtual winner of the head of Government of Mexico City.
With this result, the coalition led by the Fourth Transformation (4T) is consolidating itself as the dominant political force in the Mexican capital once again after the administration of Claudia Sheinbaum, Morena candidate, and Martí Batres, current president under the same political force.
According to the authority with cut-off at 6:00 a.m. this June 3, 2024, a total of 4,245,731 votes, 100% of the capital’s total electorate. Of these figures, at least 76 thousand, 581 were null votes and 3,956 were unregistered candidacies.

Sunday’s election day represented a significant setback for opposition parties, who expected a closer contest according to previous polls.
The most notable defeat for the PAN-PRI-PRD bloc is that of Santiago Taboada, who had generated high expectations to take, for the first time, the capital from the left, which has governed CDMX since 1997.
