WhatsApp is renewed and, do you know what that means? From April 11th things will change quite a bit! And yes, why Whatsapp has decided to open up to the world and allow us to receive messages not only from our usual friends but also from other messaging apps such as Telegram and Signal. A real revolution, don't you think
Imagine being able to exchange messages, photos, voice notes and videos not only with your WhatsApp contacts but also with those from other apps. Sounds like science fiction, right? But no! Thanks to'European Union and its push for greater “interoperability,” this will become a reality.
The WhatsApp news doesn't end here!
And there's more! If before to be able to use Whatsapp you had to be at least 16 years old, now the minimum age drops to 13 years old. News that will surely make many teenagers around Europe happy.
Mark your calendar for April 11th, because it will be the day all this becomes possible. WhatsApp will introduce a new option in the settings to manage the receipt of messages from “third-party chats”.
If you are wondering whether you too, who perhaps have already had WhatsApp for some time, will have to do something, the answer is yes. You will receive a notification to accept the new terms and, from that moment, you will be able to enjoy all these new features.
But be careful!
Not everything will be immediate. Meta, in fact, asks competing apps to meet certain security requirements in order to be integrated. So, it may take up to three months before you start receiving messages from other apps.
For users from the European Union, there is another important news: their data will be managed according to the “Eu-Us Data Privacy Framework”, a new agreement for the transfer of personal information between the EU and the USA.
So, are you ready for this new era of messaging?
I can't wait to see how this revolution will affect the way we communicate. And you? Do you think it will be more convenient to have everything in one app or do you prefer to keep your conversations separate?
