This Thursday, the Niemeyer Center in Avilés announced its new film programming, which includes five titles, including the national premiere of ‘L’edat imminent’ and ‘Tesis sobre una domesticación’, both within the framework of the 62nd edition of the Xixón International Film Festival (FICX).
The complete poster is made up of the tapes ‘Itoiz udako sesioak’, ‘Rear’the new film by the Asturian filmmaker Ramon Lluis Bande, ‘L’edat imminent’‘The revolution of the muses’ and ‘Thesis on a domestication’, between November 18 and 22.
‘Itoiz udako sesioak’ will be screened on November 18; ‘Rearguard’ (November 19); ‘L’edat imminent’ (November 20), premiere in Spain; ‘The revolution of the muses’ (November 21), and ‘Thesis on a domestication’ (November 22), also premiered in Spain.
‘L’edat imminent’ (Spain), by Col·lectiu Vigília, is the first film by this group of filmmakers from the Audiovisual Communication Degree at the Pompeu Fabra University.
After obtaining several recognitions in its development phase as a project, including the WIP Spain Award at the Malaga Festival, ‘L’edat imminent’ had its world premiere at the Giffoni Film Festival (Italy), with which the FICX collaborates since 2003 promoting the exchange so that they are part of the Young Jury in both contests.
The feature film, directed by Clara Serrano & Gerard Simó, explores the relationship between a young man and his grandmother by whom he was raised and whom he must now take care of.
The FICX will end at the Niemeyer Center with the film ‘Tesis sobre una domesticación’ (Argentina/Mexico), by Argentine filmmaker Javier Van de Couter, who won with ‘Implosión’ the award for Best Film in the Tierres en Trance Section of ’58 FICX.
The film tells the story of a successful actress, her husband and their adopted son, in their effort to be socially accepted, put in check with a visit to the family town.
