Another week has passed and we have finally arrived at the weekend. For those who work or study this is the best time to switch off, relax and dive headlong into fantastic virtual worlds. And therefore, since we are incurable meddlers, we ask you the classic ritual question: what will you play this weekend of September 10, 2022?
The main novelty of the week was Splatoon 3. The multiplayer “splattatutto” for Nintendo Switch returns with a new rather solid chapter, which introduces many improvements to its formula, without changing it. In some ways, the development team’s approach was perhaps a little too cautious and the leap in quality that would have allowed the game to make its mark is missing. If you want to know more, here’s our Splatoon 3 review.
Basketball lovers, on the other hand, will probably be busy with NBA 2K23 these days. Among the novelties of the new edition we find the Jordan Challenge mode, with which to relive the most iconic moments of Michael Jordan’s career. Seasons also return, with new rewards, music and challenges for players to compete and win.
The launch of Steelrising is less exciting. The souls-like action of Spiders and Nacon set in an alternative French Revolution made of automata in practice proved to be a game below expectations due to a woody combat system and a not particularly inspired level design, as explained in our review.
This week we also saw the return of the open world action Biomutant, with a next-gen version made specifically for PS5 and Xbox Series X | S and the launch of Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel, a new iteration of Konami’s card game featuring special rules in which 4 players duel at the same time. If you want to know more here is our preview.
Will you be playing one of the titles released in the last few days this weekend? Or will you dedicate yourself to recovering the games from the backlog? Let us know in the comments.
