Ivanov spends half a million rubles on one lawyer
As it became known earlier, Ivanov spends at least half a million rubles on the services of one of his lawyers.
Now he is defended by three lawyers – Denis Baluev, Viktor Shvets and Murad Musaev. The price for the services of the first of them starts from 500 thousand rubles at the preliminary investigation stage. The fees of the remaining defenders, according to sources, are also not inferior to the remuneration of Baluev, who announced his intention to offer the court bail for the release of Ivanov from the pre-trial detention center.
The defense appealed Ivanov's detention. Baluev noted that lawyers are asking him to choose a more lenient measure of restraint that does not involve imprisonment – house arrest or a ban on certain actions. The lawyers are also challenging the seizure of the bank accounts of the deputy minister and his family imposed by the Basmanny Court of Moscow.
Timur Ivanov was detained by law enforcement officers on the evening of April 23 at his workplace. According to investigators, the Deputy Minister of Defense entered into a criminal conspiracy and, as part of an organized group, received property benefits from contracting and subcontracting work for the needs of the military department. The man was charged under Article 290 (“Receiving a bribe on an especially large scale”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. He did not admit his guilt.
