Javier Hernández is, and will be for a long time the top scorer in the entire history of the Mexican National Team. However, throughout Gerardo Martino’s management, ‘Chicharito’ has not made an appearance after a couple of indiscipline in the first call that led him to be vetoed by the Argentine coach.
What happened? In Martino’s first couple of meetings, three selected decided to break the concentration and go out at night to a nightclub where they were captured and disclosed. Hours later, Martino along with the corresponding directors of the Tri, raised a wake-up call to said players, all of them apologized and promised not to reoffend, something that two of them did not fulfill and in the next venue for the second match, they held a clandestine party Inside the hotel. One of them was Javier Hernández.
Since then, a strict disciplinary regime has been imposed within Martino’s management, which required commitment and total self-control. Those who did not meet these factors were normally discarded, although a later apology was enough to be taken into account once again, as was the case with Gerardo Arteaga, Carlos Salcedo or Miguel Layún, among others.
Now, Javier’s apology has arrived, but to his misfortune he does it 3 years late and with a coach who has defined his forwards for the World Cup. Martino and ‘Chicharito’ have smoothed things over, however, the ‘9’ of the Galaxy has no place in the national team for the World Cup.
