Dr. Ashraf Omar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University, said in statements to “Sky News Arabia”, that the incident occurred about a month ago, and the student who wrote this letter was identified, and she was directed to the psychiatry unit at the college, which confirmed that she She was taking some sedatives, and she denied her connection to the incident, denying that any suicide had occurred.
He explained that some students used social media as means of writing blogs and hashtags threatening suicide to pressure the college to take illegal decisions in their favour, stressing that the college administration deals with all these means seriously.
Students fail twice
The Dean of the Faculty of “Ain Shams Medicine” revealed that the students had already submitted a petition to the college, numbering 68 students, and it was considered by the Examiners Committee as well as the Unit of Measurement and Evaluation, and the result was confirmation of their failure, indicating that the exams are analyzed through the Unit of Measurement and Evaluation, to ensure From the balance of the exam, so that the percentage of easy questions is from 60 to 70 percent, the percentage of questions of medium difficulty is 20 percent, and the percentage of questions that require thinking is 10 percent.
He stressed that the failing students had two chances, not as is promoted by the students, as the college regulations stipulate that the student who is tested and failed in one or more subjects, has the right to enter the exam again, which has already been done, but they failed again, wondering: “How can the college certify the success of students who have failed twice?”, pointing out that there are other students who failed the first time and took the exam the second time and actually succeeded.
