The Porsche stands out at the end of Free Practice 2 of the 6h of Spa-Francorchamps, where the protagonists of the FIA World Endurance Championship mainly worked on their race pace, also taking into account that the decisive phases of the race will take place in the same time slot on Saturday.
The track became rubbery as the day went by, after in the morning several riders had complained about a very dirty and unsafe trajectory when trying to push hard on the gas.
With a few clouds obscuring the beautiful sun that had warmed the environment throughout the afternoon while fighting against a cool breeze, the 90′ session passed without any particular problems, with a couple of Full Course Yellows decreed by the Race Direction as a test.
Kévin Estre immediately set a time of 2’04″162 which allowed him to put the Porsche #6 ahead of everyone in the Hypercar Class, trailing Antonio Fuoco’s Ferrari #50 by just 0″121, while the Cadillac finally took a hit by lifting itself in third place, a few hundredths behind the 499P, even though it is among those that have lapped the least in the group.
Toyota #7, which took the fourth overall time, was further behind, closely followed by the private Porsches of Jota #12 and Proton Competition #99, while Toyota #8 was 1″4 from the top.
The Ferrari #83 of AF Corse is also confirmed in the Top10, keeping behind the Peugeot #93 and the Ferrari #51, with the Lamborghini finishing in 11th place, 1.9″ from the top after being among the best in the morning .
BMW and Alpine remain distant, finding themselves in 15th place below, while Isotta Fraschini stops 18th, 3.8″ behind the leader, having worked hard to try to refine the set-up between the three drivers after some difficulties in FP1.
