Weather|Despite the local rains, wildfire warnings are still widely in effect.
Meteorology the institution has issued a heavy rain warning for the southern parts of the country for Saturday. Floods may occur in places in southern Finland, but the historically dry May guarantees that wildfire warnings will remain broadly valid.
The Finnish Meteorological Institute says that the weather on Saturday will otherwise be cloudy. The warm weather will continue in the south, but in the central parts of the country it will remain slightly cooler at 20-25 degrees. In northern Lapland, temperatures vary between 5 and 10 degrees. Elsewhere in Northern Finland, temperatures will remain at around 10–15 degrees.
The highest temperature so far this spring, 27.7 degrees, was measured yesterday Friday in Varkaus Kosulanniemi and Mikkeli at Mikkeli Airport.
On Sunday, the rains will move to the southwestern parts of the country. In the rest of Finland, it is dusty.
