Spring goes on pause in Italy, the weather picture changes from today with the arrival of bad weather including cold, rain, wind and hail. A yellow weather warning has been issued for thunderstorms in several regions.
Wednesday 17 April, as the forecasts indicated, marks a reversal of trend after the last weekend characterized by sun and heat. From today, temperatures will drop with a particularly evident drop in the North and Centre. At the same time, bad weather is also arriving which will progressively move southwards and will also arrive in Campania, Calabria and Puglia.
The trend will continue during Thursday 18 April, thanks to the action of the cold winds which will leave their mark in particular in the Centre. The situation will gradually improve on the north-eastern front. The drop in temperatures, combined with bad weather, brings snow back to the Alps and Apennines even at relatively low altitudes, around 1000 metres. The situation will remain unstable even at the start of the weekend, particularly in the Centre-South. The weekend will continue to offer low temperatures for the period, especially during the night.
Yellow weather warning for thunderstorms
The Civil Protection reports the yellow weather alert for thunderstorms in areas of Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Emilia Romagna, Molise and Puglia.
In Calabria, the yellow alert is triggered due to hydraulic and hydrogeological risk. This last indication also concerns Puglia and Molise.
