—How did the song 'Love is just a game' come about? What was the inspiration? How did the song go?
—Alonso Briceño (vocalist): “It's a love song, that's what the title says, but it's a love, heartbreak. 'Love is just a game', love is just a game. In some cases I think that, especially when it is a young summer love. And yes, it went very well for us because, having the concept of Valentine's Day behind and launch it on that date, I think we were able to use our resources very well, the theme of the heart, the emoticons and all the themes that are seen in the video clip, as it has gone very well hand in hand with that aside. “We did a strong campaign with influencers.”
—How was the experience of interacting with people through your promotional campaign with the song 'Love is just a game'?
—Paul Schauber (guitarist): “Yes, that experience is nice, an activation that we came up with in conjunction with Asia's Jockey Boulevard. It was incredible to see people's faces when they opened the curtain because it was a small box where you entered, sat on a bench, the curtain opened and we appeared playing the song for a minute. It was a tiny piece of the song so that you're left wanting more and then listen to it on Spotify or YouTube. But it was very nice to see the reaction of the people, how they reacted and were impressed to see us there so close.”
—How has the video clip fared in views?
—Alonso Briceño (vocalist): “Well, I enter from time to time, I don't like to be so attentive because sometimes it is frustrating to dedicate so much to making a video clip and it doesn't have many views, but I think this one has done very well. good. I think Paul knows more about the numbers, but we have already exceeded 100,000 views.”
—Paul Schauber (guitarist): “We just passed 500,000 views on YouTube yesterday. So it does have like 200 or 300 comments and all the comments have been super positive that they loved it, that they love that we are finally back because it has been almost a year since we have released anything. So everything goes very well with the song.”
—His new album 'Song's for BBQ'S'. When will it come out? What themes will it have? How many will there be?
—Alonso Briceño (vocalist): “Well, it's a chill album designed especially for barbecues that we call barbacoas, which is a more cinematic name. There are 10 songs so far. It's going to have some feats, we're going to play with Kanaku and El Tigre and others there that we can't announce yet, but it's a calm, pop album, undoubtedly indie pop, which has songs similar to 'Love is just a game' and a little bit of everything. I think it's the best thing we've done so far. If not the best album we've ever made, soon we're going to be releasing a new song that, every month and a half or two months, we're going to be releasing music. So this year is a full We the Lion year.”
—When could they be releasing the entire album or is there still no specific date?
—Paul Schauber (guitarist): “Yes, we plan to launch it in October. “We'll see if we can achieve it, but the initial idea is to release a song every month and a half or every two months to reach October with five songs released and release the complete album.”
—Alonso Briceño (vocalist): “Yes, since it is in October and it is a barbecue album, we want to have a big meeting with barbecues like this and for everyone to come with their chorizos.” and we, meanwhile, play music in the background, and have a lot of grills and beds and be able to be there listening to music in a huge garden with a lot of food.”

—What are the projects for the band in 2024?
—Alonso Briceño (vocalist): “We are a band that is actively playing every week, especially we are putting together a show this Thursday, March 21, at the Barranco station. It's the first time we've done an unplugged like Nirvana's, which has all the hanging robes and special songs with special guests. So that is the show right now that we are promoting the most, but, in general, we are also planning to do a tour throughout Peru, ideally, to show our music not only in Lima, but in many provinces that also listen to us and They write so many beautiful things and, well, continue advancing our album five, which we already have almost finished as well, which is for next year. So everything is coming a little, ideally also to do a great national theater at the end of the year, but that remains to be confirmed.”
—As for the situation, you will have heard something about some artists who are just emerging publicly and who have faced each other, such as the case of Leslie Show and Handa. What do you think?
—Alonso Briceño (vocalist): “Everyone has their own way of shining. It seems to me that Leslie has a lot of comments, but she is making music, good for her. In general, I believe that each artist has their own way of expressing themselves, their way of seeking fame as well. We like it to be through our music and for that to be what speaks for us. We try to cultivate good relationships with the rest of the bands, to be as friendly as possible. In fact, we are in the best moment because precisely, when you make music, you want to have feats and you want to have good connections with the rest of the local bands. We are talking to several and they are all very cool, we try not to have major problems with anyone. In general, I think that the reactivation has resurfaced after the pandemic and we must take advantage of that because it was a super complex moment. So now that there are shows and international artists are coming, you have to be on good terms with everyone to be able to open for them and be part of that show.”

—Do yo
u think there is support here in the country for national musical talent?
—Alonso Briceño (vocalist): “I think there is not as much support. The truth is that it is more the entrepreneurs, who are the ones who seek to generate these spaces. I don't think there is much support from the municipalities or the Government in general or, in any case, there could be much more. The industry is small in Peru, but for artists like us and for those to come it is an immense opportunity because there is a lot of room to get your project out, to shine. It would be nice if there was more support from the State. However, that, on the one hand, also means that there are opportunities for oneself to carry out one's project like we did, which is very feasible. You think that sometimes it is very complicated, but in reality it is about pushing and surrounding yourself with a good team and composing a lot.”
—Paul Schauber (guitarist): “Yes, because in the end brands support you if you have a good idea or a good concept, a good image or whatever. So, I think that, as Alonso says, perhaps in state or government issues there is not much support because there is really very little, but the companies do support you. I think that companies are willing to support national music as has happened to us, that in fact there are some brands that always constantly support us with the projects and ideas that we have in our heads. So it's about sending yourself out and proposing, proposing ideas, to see if a brand is at the same time as you and see if you can do things together.”
—What would be your recommendation for new talents entering the music industry?
—Alonso Briceño (vocalist): “Get yourself a music producer who, although it may sound like an investment that is really extra, I think it is elementary because many people get frustrated composing only at home. and recording alone at home, but the fact of having a producer changed our lives completely. It made us see music from another side, so seek professional help. That's important, even if it's to make one song and you do the rest. I think that composing a lot, being very attached to your instrument. Making your own music, listening to your own soul, listening to your own body and making your own lyrics is the most valuable thing one can give in this world. So I think we pay attention to that spirit.”
—Paul Schauber (guitarist): “I think it's a bit of investing in your project, not being afraid to maybe spend a little more, as Alonso says, 'hire a producer', because receiving that help is for us, at least I think we have had a positive experience. It has been one of the best decisions we have made. So invest in your project, invest in making it sound good, because the radios also help you if your sound is good, well, if your sound sounds bad, maybe they won't want to play you because you are in the end competing against the best bands. greatest in the world that play on the radio. So, I think you have to reach a certain standard to be heard and to be held to. So invest in your project, ask for help, as Alonso says, and surround yourself with the best people you can, who push you to move forward, consistency, it is very important to be constant.
