After the elections this Sunday, June 2, and recognizing her defeat as a presidential candidate against her opponent, the Morenoist Claudia Sheinbaum, Xochitl Galvez warned that “this does not end here,” and announced challenges when reporting presence of organized crime and “the entire State apparatus dedicated to favoring its candidate.”
Through social networks, the candidate of the Strength and Heart Coalition for Mexico thanked the Mexicans “who dared to dream and joined this great movement.”
“I know that the results surprise us and that is why we must analyze what happened. We all knew that we were facing an unequal competition against the entire State apparatus dedicated to promoting to their candidate,” said the PAN-PRI-PRD standard bearer.
“We all realized how organized crime was present, threatening and even murdering dozens of applicants and candidates. This doesn’t end here. Yes, we will present the challenges that prove what I tell you and that we all know. And we will do it because we cannot allow us to have another election like this.”
“I recognized yesterday my defeat because I am a democrat and I believe in institutions. I trust the INE quick count, it is a statistical exercise prepared by the best data scientists in the country,” Gálvez noted.
“Today more than ever we must defend our democracy and our republic. Counterweights and the division of powers remain at risk. “This should be a great moment of unity for those of us who believe in life, truth and freedom.”
He also added that “We are the resistance and we must do what we have to do: defend Mexico from authoritarianism and bad government. Long live Mexico,” she wrote.
