Wayre, Telefónica’s ‘corporate venture capital’, announced this Monday that it has participated with 2.7 million euros in the latest investment round of Ciudadela, a Spanish ‘proptech’ specialized in the management of neighborhood communities whose mission is transform farm management through digitalization and the use of Artificial Intelligence.
The round has also included other investment companies such as Athos Capital, Archipiélago Next, Big Sur Ventures, Finaves and Invertirs; as well as other angel investors such as Juan Urdiales and Felipe Navío, founders of Job&Talent.
With this round Ciudadela will try to accelerate its expansion thanks to the most disruptive technology that allows it to create innovative solutions and consolidate its position as a leader in the sector. In this way, the platform will be able to automate administrative processes and use real-time data so that the tool is capable of offering neighborhood communities greater transparency, efficiency and significant savings.
The investment director of Wayra Spain, María Antúnez, explained that this innovative platform allows the traditional sector of property management to be digitalized, providing more transparency and improving the customer experience. “We want to become a strategic partner to help scale its services marketplace, where we can integrate solutions at scale such as energy, alarm systems, IoT sensors and connectivity services, thus offering a more intelligent and efficient ecosystem for communities. and homes,” he highlighted.
