With reference to a sample of 93 managements (which provide the service to about 39 million inhabitants), it is noted that, for the year 2021, the average annual expenditure incurred by a typical resident domestic user (family of 3, with annual consumption of 150 m3), amounts to 322 euros / year at national level, with a more contained value in the North-West (239 euros / year) and higher in the Center (397 euros / year), the latter area in to which the competent subjects have planned, for the period 2020-2023, a higher per capita expenditure for investments to be financed through tariffs. This is what emerges from the 2022 annual report of Arera, the Regulatory Authority for Energy and the Environment.
Considering the various items that make up the bill of domestic users, for an annual consumption of 150 cubic meters, approximately 39.5% of the expenditure is attributable to the aqueduct service, for which 127.3 euros / year are spent nationally. The national average expenditure for sewerage and purification services amounts, respectively, to € 41.7 / year (12.9% of the total) and € 95 / year (29.5%). In addition, the fixed quota weighs 9% and the same weighs on taxes (9%).
In general, the analysis of the data shows an advancement in the overall improvement process for the technical quality indicators identified by the Authority and a slight but stable growth in the number of managers for which it is carried out periodically by the governing bodies of the area. the recognition of infrastructural and quality data, also with reference to the operations located in the geographical area of the South and of the Islands.
