When a video game is released in PC There will be side effects that normally cannot be avoided, and that is the creation of mods, which are free for all users who want to give a different touch to the games that are available in libraries such as Steam. That happened just last year with Mortal Kombat 1in which unofficial fighters from several famous franchises arrived, such as Shrek, Disney, SpongeBobamong others that were created solely to create laughter from the community.
In fact, a channel Youtube called Toasted ShoesIt became popular for putting on video different fighters from brands that were previously thought unimaginable, and that has even caused the account to be flooded with subscribers and likes so that the videos are constantly shared on the platform. And that has created problems for the owner of the channel, since it seems that for the owners of the property, Warner Bros., It does not seem to them that such modifications are made to the main characters.
Through your account Twitter, the user has mentioned that he received threats from the intellectual property owner, mentioning that they are trying to destroy his channel. Here is his message:

Warner Bros. threatens to destroy my channel Youtube and I do not know what to do.
This is what happened This morning I received a copyright infringement notice directly from Warner Brothers stating that Mortal Kombat’s modifications to my content “infringe” their intellectual property rights. They asked me to remove all Mortal Kombat 1 videos from my channel or else they will issue copyright strikes and essentially delete my channel entirely.
For over 6 months, Warner Brothers has had no problems with people modifying the game and the game itself. @noobde He has shared countless videos and clips of mods praising them. My mod clips have over a billion views across all platforms, which has allowed me to bring attention to the game and continue to support the team of developers I work with.
My team of modders work with me part and full time and the income from these videos pays their salaries. I can’t answer the email they sent me directly from Warner Brothers either. So I have no way to contact Warner Brothers or ask what exactly they consider infringes their copyright. I also seem to be the only content creator I know who has had a cease and desist sent to them by Warner Brothers. Because of all this, I am now forced to delete all videos from my channel. This is not what I wanted to do but I feel like I have no other choice. There’s not much else I can do right now, so feel free to retweet this to get Warner Bros. attention.
It is worth mentioning that until now the channel is still active, but some videos have had to be made private due to copyright infringement notices, which would come directly from a company linked to Warner that wants to throw the videos away. So the user has sent a message to the fans to share it, so that the official account of the owners of the game can speak out, and so far there has been no response on the networks.

Author’s note: It is strange that Warner has done this, since they normally do not have problems with these types of modifications. In fact, it even serves to promote the game in the PC version.
