There was aexplosion in Belgorod, a Russian city on the border with Ukraine, following an alert for a missile attack. The Tass news agency reported this, while the governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, on Telegram appealed to the inhabitants to seek shelter in shelters.
Yesterday the Ukrainian armed forces had already attacked several settlements in the region with 6 kamikaze drones. Following one of the attacks, a woman and her son were killed, the governor said.
“In the village of Oktyabrsky, a kamikaze drone attacked a car in which the driver and three passengers (mother, father and son) were located, to our great sorrow, as a result of the explosion, the woman died instantly and the four-year-old child died in hospital,” the governor specified.
If the war for a week has revolved around the Russian attack in the Kharkiv region, Moscow’s objective, Putin explained yesterday, is the creation of a buffer zone that prevents Kiev from hitting Russian territories. The Russian operations in the city, in fact, “are a response to the bombing of the border areas, including Belgorod, where civilians are killed. For this reason, if things continue in this way, we are forced to create a security zone. To date – however, the Russian president reiterated – we have no plans regarding Kharkiv”.
