Ukraine war: Selenskyj raises serious allegations against Putin
In the video published on Telegram, Zelenskyy makes serious allegations against Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Russian army repeatedly attacks civilian facilities during the Ukraine war. “Today they shelled a bakery in Makariv, Kyiv region. For what?!” says Zelenskyj. According to Ukrainian sources, at least 13 civilians died in this air raid west of Kyiv. According to unconfirmed information from Kiev, an attack on a residential area in the city of Sumy followed the night after the speech.
Zelenskyy also accused Russian soldiers of “mining” an agreed route to bring food and medicines to the besieged city of Mariupol in southern Ukraine. Buses used to evacuate civilians from embattled cities were also destroyed. Zelenskyy accused Russia of “cynicism”. The Russian side denies any attacks on civilian facilities.
War in Ukraine: Dispute with Russia over humanitarian corridors
On Monday morning Moscow announced the opening of several “humanitarian corridors” to bring people from the cities of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Mariupol and Sumy to safety. However, these should lead to Russia and Belarus. Ukraine refused.
Russia has already announced the establishment of new humanitarian corridors. In Kyiv, Kharkiv, Mariupol, Chernihiv and Sumy, local ceasefires are to apply on Tuesday morning to enable civilians to escape. However, there is no official statement on these announcements from the Ukrainian side.
Selenskyj would like to continue negotiations
Zelenskyj said that talks with Russia would continue. “We are realists. That’s why we’re going to talk. We will insist on negotiation until we find a way to say to our people: This is how we come to peace”. The President encouraged his compatriots and assured that every day of war creates “better conditions” for Ukraine. (lp)
