War in Ukraine: Ubisoft supports employees involved

Ubisoft is reportedly providing its Ukrainian staff alternative accommodation, additional funds to help travel and relocation, and advance salary payments following theinvasion of Russia into Ukraine.

The publisher / developer – who states that the safety and well-being of his teams and their families are his “main concern”- has two studios in Ukraine; one in the capital Kievthe other in Odessa. If earlier this week the company said it did not have “details to share“, Information is now emerging on a number of measures it has taken to help their employeesas specified by Ubisoft itself a The Loadout:

Our hearts are with our teams in Ukraine and we are providing them with support and assistance as they go through this difficult time. The safety and well-being of our teams and their families is our primary concern and Ubisoft is fully mobilized to support them in moving forward.

The company explained how the situation has evolved in recent months and especially in recent days where the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has now taken hold:

Over the past few months, Ubisoft has been monitoring the situation closely and putting measures in place to help protect our teams. Last week, we recommended that our employees take refuge in a place they consider safe.

Ubisoft provided all team members in Ukraine with additional funds to help cover exceptional costs, such as travel and relocation costs, and prepaid wages to account for any potential disruption to banking systems.

Ubisoft provides accommodation in neighboring countries where teams and their families can take refuge if they wish and are able to do so. To ensure that we remain in close contact with all teams, we have set up hotlines to answer their questions and needs and have put in place an emergency communication system in the event of an unstable infrastructure. We will continue to adapt and strengthen our assistance as the situation evolves.

Ukraine hosts, among others, the team of Stalker GSC Game World and the study of The Sinking City And Sherlock Holmes Frogwares, in addition to the producer of Suvarium Vostok Games.
