(Reuters) – Major Wall Street indices opened lower on Monday after data showed a slowdown in China’s economic growth as a relentless jump in oil prices fueled fears about high inflation.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.21% shortly after the open to 35,221.02 points. The S&P 500 retreated 0.17%, to 4,463.72 points, while the Nasdaq Composite was down 0.39%, to 14,839.74 points.
