President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation Elena Vyalbe reacted to the words of Yulia Stupak, who allowed her to leave the sport after a failure in the skiathlon at the Beijing Olympics. Her words lead “Match TV”.
Vyalbe believes that Stupak allowed her career to end on emotions. She recalled that the skier had been ill with COVID-19 twice a year, which could not but affect the results. “Is it possible to finish after one Olympics? These are emotions, ”Vyalbe is convinced.
Stupak finished 24th in the skiathlon at the Beijing Olympics. After the start, she said that she did not want to perform, demonstrating similar results. Silver was won by Natalia Nepryaeva. The award was the first for the Russian team at the Games.
The Beijing Olympics will run until February 20. Domestic athletes compete under the auspices of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC).
