Thanks to a recent interview by Dengeki, the creative director Yoko Taro took the opportunity to reconfirm that Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars it will not be connected nor with the series NieR nor with Drakengard.
Initial confirmation came in early September with a tweet, where the same Taro had wanted to communicate to the world that the upcoming game will have no connection with Drakengard.
The interviewer still wanted to ask if there were no links with either NieR Re[in]carnation, given that the narrative of the game is that of Voice of Cards they are somewhat similar, but Yoko Taro stopped speculation in the bud by confirming that the only thing vaguely connecting the two was their cost.
To change the theme of the speech a little, the executive producer Yosuke Saito revealed that the development time of Voice of Cards was 1.5 times longer than originally planned, due to the titles in production at the same time (NieR Reincarnation And NieR Replicant). However, he said he was delighted to finally be able to show it to the whole world.
