The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), the North American classification society, has added to its database Visions of Manathe new action JRPG belonging to Square Enix’s Mana series, suggesting that it will be revealed soon exit date official.
Moreover, the launch of the game on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series is expected during the summer of this year, therefore within a few months, so it is plausible that we will soon receive official details in this sense, perhaps during the numerous events of the week of the Summer Game Fest which will take place in the first half of June.
As for the rating by the ESRB, it does not contain particularly interesting or new details. The game has been classified as TEEN, i.e. suitable for players aged 13 and over, with the institution reporting the presence of female characters with revealed costumes, for example with evident necklines and bikinis. “(Visions of Mana) is a role-playing game in which players help adventurers on a quest to stop a villain from harming a goddess and a magical tree. From a third-person perspective, players explore a fantasy world, interact with characters and engage in melee-style combat against human-like enemies and fantastical creatures (e.g., dragons, harpies, giant insects). Players use swords, spears, knives, scythes, and magic to defeat enemies in fast-paced combat. “
“Battles are highlighted by explosions, impact sounds, and flashes of light. Other special attacks are depicted in short sequences, with close-up camera angles and screen-shaking effects. Some female characters are drawn with revealing costumes (e.g., plunging necklines , bikini-like clothing).”
What is Visions of Mana?
Visions of Mana is the first new game from the long-running series JRPG series “Mana” since Dawn of Mana in 2006 (never arrived on our shores), if we exclude the Trials of Mana remake released in 2020 on PC, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.
Set in a fantasy world, where mana is a life force that fuels nature and elemental spirits, the player takes on the role of Val, one of the guards chosen to protect the Alm during their long pilgrimage to the sacred mana tree, facing numerous challenges and enemies along the journey. Combat is action-oriented with players able to perform combinations of attacks on the ground and in mid-air, harness magic and more, all with an emphasis on character customization in battle thanks to the diversification of the weapon powers in based on their element.
