Violent early morning in Zacatecas: Multiple shootings leave THREE POLICE OFFICERS INJURED

The Ministry of Public Security (SSP) of Zacatecas, through the Spokesperson of the State Peacebuilding and Security Committee, issued a statement in which it released all the details about the multiple attacks this Wednesday.

He explained that during the first hours of todayelements of the Municipal Police They were carrying out a night surveillance operation in the municipality of Jerez, where they were attacked by armed civilians.

They ambush the National Guard in Fresnillo

The statement indicated that a second attack was recorded in the Morfín Chávez tollboothfrom the municipality of Fresnillo, where armed subjects They attacked elements of the National Guard.

In this second event, the SSP highlighted that there were no injuries, however, unofficially it was said that the bullets caused damage to two GN patrols, three toll booths, two private vehicles and a tractor-trailer.

Two vehicles catch fire on roads

The spokesperson pointed out that in the community of Bañón, belonging to the municipality of Villa de Cos, a trailer on fire was reported, however, they clarified that this event is not linked to the armed attacks.

Likewise, he highlighted that the first expert reports showed that the fire in the vehicle was caused by an alleged mechanical failure.

However, this vehicle was not the only one on fire, since near the Osiris booth it was reported that a second heavy vehicle ended up burned.

So far, it is not known what the causes were, but the statement indicates that the State Attorney General's Office (FGJE) is already carrying out the corresponding investigations to clarify the facts.
