A violent and unusual event in Colombian basketball was recorded this Thursday in Soacha, in the match between Condors of Cundinamarca and the Pirates of Bogotá.
Aggression in Colombian basketball
With 1:41 left to finish the game in the Soacha Coliseumthe Pirates player joe hamptonfrom the United States, was the victim of an attack by local fans.
The player, after an argument, was going to the dressing room when a fan pulled the athlete’s hair, as was recorded on video.
There were moments of tension between players and the public due to what happened. The Pirates club, this Friday, issued a statement rejecting the violent acts.
Even game attendees reported that the capital team had to be escorted out of the coliseum.
“From Piratas de Bogotá we reject any type of violent act that is related to the game of basketball. The construction of safe sports spaces is essential to contribute to a country in peace,” said the club.
