From the emotions of Austin to those of Jerez
Author of an exemplary performance with his Aprilia RS-GP24 in the last round in Austin, in which he established himself both in the Sprint Race and in the Sunday race, Maverick Viñales will try to repeat himself this weekend in front of his compatriot audience of Jerez de la Fronterain the home race for both him and his teammate Aleix Espargarò.
Three drivers on the track
Having become the first rider in the history of MotoGP to win with three different brands, Viñales offered the best of his repertoire with the Noale company, which will also present itself on the 'Angel Nieto' circuit with a new addition to its line-up. Together with the Viñales-Espargarò pair, the team will also line up Lorenzo Savadoriat the first of his three races this year as wild cards: “I can't wait to return to racing in MotoGP – said the 31-year-old from Cesena – it will be an important weekend for me and for Aprilia. I will race with a laboratory bike, we will have several new solutions to test and I will have the opportunity to experiment with some new features for Aleix and Maverick. I will do my best!”
All the energy of 'Batman'
Jerez de la Frontera represents in all respects a home circuit for Viñales, where he will want to exploit his and Aprilia's potential, combined with the motivations dictated by the magical moment of both realities, to aim for victory or conquest of the podium, the same one that has been missing on this track since 2019: “I grew up at the Jerez Circuit and every time I go I find the people from home and the fan club – has explained – I know every meter of this circuit, It's a track that I like and where I always want to do well. The best memory for me is my first victory at the CEV with the 125cc. This year we reach the top because we have a bike that allows us to be strong everywhere. Jerez is a track where I've always done well, it will be great to ride there again.”
Jerez, the circuit of truth
Emotions also for Espargarò, who is also ready to do well on a circuit that saw him score pole position last season. A track which, according to him, will highlight the true qualities of the riders and the bikes: “Jerez is a historic track, the oldest in the MotoGP, and it is obviously very special for us Spanish riders too – he added – this GP is the first real test, because it is a track where it is essential to have a good setting, where you can really understand if the bike works. Here we will discover the real level of the bikes and the riders. Obviously for all the Spaniards it is a very important circuit, it is always a great celebration to race in Jerez. I got on the podium two years ago and I can't wait to race there again. We hope it will be a good race for all of us at Aprilia.”
