What if Porsche and Lamborghini got their rival Ferrari to build a rally car as well? And that the three of them will then compete in a new supercar class in the WRC? Never say never. Either way, the result would sound delicious. Sam Albert proves that, who put a Ferrari V8 from a California in a Subaru WRX STi rally car and gives the thing a good track in this video. He seems to be more often against the red line than below it.
You can watch the entire engine change on Albert’s YouTube channel, but the most interesting thing is to see the animal at work. The 4.3-liter V8 was also used in the F430, 430 Scuderia and with slightly more engine capacity in the 458 Italia. Not a bad list.
Power of the Ferrari V8
Albert’s ultimate goal is to race his Subaru WRX STi with Ferrari V8. He still has to adjust a few things to fall within the rules. Without those rules, the eight-cylinder from Maranello would have to produce 490 hp and 504 Nm. What is at least as nice for us as spectators is that the side exhausts produce a great sound. Enjoy with us.
