Last March came Unicorn Overlord to the market. This is one of the most expensive jobs for Vanillaware, its developers, since they invested everything they had to make this experience a reality. Although at the moment the exact sales of this delivery are unknown, it seems that it was a success for this team, since Vanillaware is already working on its next project.
Although the details are not clear, through his official Twitter account, Vanillaware has revealed that they have already begun the recruiting process for the development of a “new fantasy action role-playing game.” They are currently hiring programmers, 2D animators, and background designers.
Unfortunately, there are no more details on this. It is unknown when this game will be available, or what type of experience it will be. However, this is good news. In April it was announced that Unicorn Overlord had sold more than half a million unitswhich although not such a large number, is a positive result for the study.
Along with this, the few details that have been provided mean that the next Vanillaware game will probably be similar to what was seen in Odin Sphere Leifthrasir and Dragon’s Crown, instead of something like 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim either Unicorn Overlord. Now, when is this new game coming? Considering that between 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim and Unicorn Overlord There was a five-year wait, it is likely that we will see something similar this time, and the studio’s next work will be available at the end of the current generation.
