Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, accused the United States on Wednesday (25) of having “blood on its hands” for its complicity in Israel’s “crimes” in Gaza.
“The United States is definitely complicit in the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza. In fact, they direct crimes in the region,” Khamenei said at a public event in Tehran, according to the state news agency. GO TO.
“In these crimes, the blood on the hands of America is even on the arms of the oppressed, the children and the patients,” he stated.
The religious leader also mentioned the fact that leaders from countries he described as “cruel and evil”, such as the United Kingdom, France and Germany, travel to Israel because they believe that the Jewish State will “collapse”.
“If the possibility of annihilation were not a threat to the occupying regime, these villains would not feel the need to express their solidarity (with Israel),” he said.
Khamenei also predicted that the Palestinians will emerge “victorious” from the current conflict: “The future belongs to the Palestinians.”
Iran has repeatedly threatened to open other fronts of the battle with the regional expansion of the conflict since the October 7 start of Hamas’ war against Israel.
The Islamic Republic of Iran and Israel are bitter enemies, competing for regional hegemony and waging a secret war with cyberattacks, assassinations and acts of sabotage.
The Persian country leads the so-called Axis of Resistance, an informal alliance between militia organizations such as the Lebanese group Hezbollah and the Palestinians Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
This Wednesday (25) marks the 19th day of war between Israel and Hamas. Thousands of victims have already been killed and others are missing.
Israel accuses Iran of “direct” aid in the war
The Israeli Army accused Iran on Wednesday (25) of having “directly” helped Hamas carry out the October 7 attack, which left 1,400 people dead and more than 200 kidnapped in Israeli territory.
“Iran directly assisted Hamas before the attack with military training, provision of equipment and weapons, intelligence information and funds,” Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said at a press conference.
Hagari highlighted that the Islamic Republic still helps the Palestinian group that controls the Gaza Strip, providing it with intelligence information and carrying out cyber attacks in different parts of the world against Israel.
This is the most concrete accusation Israel has made so far against Iran of supporting Hamas. In recent days, Israeli officials have alleged that Tehran was behind the October 7 attack, but have not specified how.
Hagari said that when Iran’s allies in Iraq, Yemen and Lebanon act, it is on orders from Tehran and recalled that Israeli troops hit five Lebanese “terrorist” cells in the last 24 hours, in reference to the Lebanese Shiite militia Hezbollah.
Also this Wednesday, leaders of the Palestinian Islamic groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad met in Beirut with the leader of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, whose group is supported by Iran.
Hezbollah explained in a statement that at that meeting “it was decided to continue with the coordination and monitoring of events on a daily and permanent basis” and they also spoke about what “the parties of the Axis of Resistance must do in this delicate phase to achieve a true victory for Resistance in Gaza and Palestine.”
