The former soccer player, sick of ELA, confirms that tracheostomy will not be done to increase his life expectancy
Juan Carlos Unzuéformer soccerist and former coach that has become a flag of struggle for his illness, ELA, announced a few days ago that he would stop acting as a commentator due to the respiratory limitation that implies the progress of his ailment. Now, he assures that when necessary, he will not undergo a tracheostomy to increase his life expectancy.
«Two or three years ago I signed my last wills. Within those last will was the question of whether I wanted to ask me the tracheostomy. At that time I said yes, totally convinced. And today I have to tell you totally convinced that I am not going to do it when that moment comes, ”said Unzué in RNE.
Five years after his diagnoses, the exporter of Barcelona and Osasuna among others, argues his decision based on two reasons. “First I mean and make it clear that I have admiration for the affected people that I have met, that they have made the tracheo and have given sense to their life.”
But his circumstances have led him to make a heartbreaking decision: «I have admiration, but I feel that I will not have enough quality of life to be happy, to enjoy. AND I prefer to leave a little earlier, but with the feeling that my life has been a full life until the last day».
