United States The far-right Infowars site filed for bankruptcy

A number of defamation charges have been filed against the U.S. site.

Far right The fake news site Infowars voluntarily filed for bankruptcy in a Texas court on Sunday, according to Reuters.

Several defamation charges have been filed against the site.

Bankruptcy proceedings would suspend all civil actions and allow the company to continue operating and prepare a plan to stabilize its finances.

Infowarsin founder and media face Alex Jones known as the former president of the United States Donald Trumpin as a supporter. Jones was found liable last year in three lawsuits related to his false claims.

Jones has repeatedly claimed in his programs that the massacre at Sandy Hook School in Connecticut in 2012 was a scam.

According to Jones, the mainstream media and gun control supporters would have staged the shooting of 20 children and six workers.

The school bus drove past Sandy Hook’s school sign on Feb. 15.

Of the dead in March, the families rejected Jones’ mediation proposal to pay each plaintiff $ 120,000.

“The so-called offer is Alex Jonesin a transparent and desperate attempt to escape public responsibility, ”the families commented in court documents, according to Reuters.

According to Infowars’ bankruptcy petition, the company would have assets worth only $ 0-50,000, but would have debts and compensation of $ 1-10 million to pay.
