The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, announced Thursday that one million Ukrainian refugees have fled their country since Russian forces began the offensive a week ago.
“In just seven days, we have seen the influx of 1 million refugees from Ukraine into its neighboring countries,” Grandi said on Twitter.
“For millions more inside Ukraine, it is time for the guns to fall silent so that life-saving humanitarian aid can be provided,” he added.
