According to information released by some local media, the drama occurred on the day of Sunday 28 April. Precisely along the state road 106, near the junction that leads to the municipality of Villapiana. The woman was on board the Audi, which her husband was driving and they were headed to their home which is located in the municipality of Scicli, in the province of Cosenza.

However, it is still unclear how this could have happened, but they were involved in a serious accident with two other cars. A Skoda and an Opel Insigna. Unfortunately, the situation appeared desperate right from the start and from here they asked for prompt intervention, both from the health workers and the police.

Doctors also arrived on site in an air ambulance. They quickly realized the severity of the 53-year-old's condition, which is why they arranged for her to be promptly transported to the Annunziata hospital in Cosenza for the necessary treatment.

Seven other people involved in the crash were also injured. Consequently they arranged for everyone to be admitted to hospitals Trebisacce, Corigliano and Rossano. However, at the moment none of them appear to be in life-threatening condition.

Unfortunately, however, Francesca Stornello, on the afternoon of Monday 29 April, while she was hospitalized he lost his life. The injuries sustained in the collision with the other vehicles were too serious for her.
