The Ukrainian authorities informed theInternational Atomic Agency (Aiea) that Russia intends to take “full and permanent” control of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, an accusation that Moscow denies. In the letter sent to the UN agency, Petro Kotin, president of Energoatom, says that since the Russians took control of Europe’s largest nuclear power plant last week, some 400 Russian soldiers are “constantly present on the site” and the plant remains under the control of the commander of the Russian forces.
