Moscow continues to target Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city and an important university centre. “This afternoon, Russian troops struck civilian infrastructure in Kharkiv, causing at least four civilian casualties: three men and one woman.” This was announced by the governor of the region, Oleg Synegubov, quoted by Ukrainska Pravda. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported an explosion in the city at 4.21pm, specifying that a fire hit an industrial building.
Ukraine, Zelensky on Moscow’s wanted list
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been placed on the wanted list of the Russian Interior Ministry. This was reported by Tass, adding that a criminal case has been opened against her. The charges are not specified. According to what appears in the Interior Ministry database, Zelensky is wanted under an article of the Russian Criminal Code, which however is not specified. But not only Zelensky. The Russian Interior Ministry has also issued an arrest order for former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. Both were placed on Moscow’s most wanted list, but neither was charged. This was reported by the Ria Novosti agency.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that “Russia’s announcement placing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the wanted list is evidence of the desperation of the Russian state and propaganda machine, which has no other noteworthy excuses to invent for attract attention“. The Ukrainian ministry adds that “contrary to useless Russian statements, the arrest warrant of the International Criminal Court for the arrest of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on charges of war crimes is instead entirely real and is subject to execution in 123 countries around the world”.
