Ukraine, Biden gives the go-ahead to other American troops in Eastern Europe. Support for NATO allies against the Russian threat

The US president Joe Biden formally approved the deployment of additional American troops in Eastern Europe: “Thousands of soldiers” will be deployed “in the next few days”, CNN said.

The move, explains the US broadcaster, is intended to be one demonstration of support to the allies of the Born who feel threatened by Russian military activities near the Ukrainian border. According to CNN, the new deployment is about 2,000 US troops in Poland and a few thousand others in south-eastern NATO countries, such as Romania.

According to Wall Street Journal, citing administration sources, Biden gave the go-ahead to send 2.000 soldiers in Poland and Germany and al repositioning of about 1,000 soldiers currently in Germany in Romania, on the eastern flank closest to Russia.

Russia denounced the US decision to send 3,000 more troops to Eastern Europe as “destructive”. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grouchko, quoted by the Interfax agency, called the decision “unjustified and destructive”.
