Russia has become the country with the largest number of sanctions against it. As of Tuesday, March 7, 5532 sanctions measures have been imposed on Russia. The leader in the number of restrictions is the United States, whose list includes 1194 sanctions, followed by Canada (908), Switzerland (824), and the European Union (766). However, most of the restrictions are individual in nature.
Western countries began to accept restrictions after the start of a special military operation in the Donbass on February 24. The purpose of Russia’s actions, according to President Vladimir Putin, is to protect people who are subjected to bullying and genocide.
