The UAE welcomed the framework political agreement reached by the Sudanese parties to complete the transitional phase, in a way that enhances the stability and prosperity of the sisterly Republic of Sudan.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation affirmed that the agreement establishes steps to ensure the building of a civilian-led government, expressing its wishes for success and payment for the Sudanese components in their next journey to complete the transitional phase in Sudan.
The Ministry appreciated the efforts of the members of the tripartite mechanism group, the Quartet, the European Union and the Troika countries to mobilize support for this framework agreement, and the success in building and strengthening consensus among the actors, in order to achieve the aspirations of the brotherly people of Sudan for stability, development and prosperity. The ministry indicated the UAE’s keenness to deepen and expand the horizons of cooperation with the sisterly Republic of Sudan and push it forward in all fields, in order to strengthen the bonds of strong relations that bind our two brotherly countries and peoples.
The ministry affirmed the UAE’s keenness on a peaceful and successful political transition in brotherly Sudan, in a way that enhances its stability and prosperity and brings prosperity, prosperity and development to its people.
Yesterday, the commander of the Sudanese army, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Muhammad Hamdan Daglo, “Hamidati,” and representatives of the “Freedom and Change” coalition and a number of parties, organizations, professional associations, and armed movements signed a “framework agreement” that includes a two-year political transitional period with civilian leadership, limited to Where the role of the army is on the Security and Defense Council headed by the Prime Minister.
Sudanese politicians, experts and analysts confirmed in statements to Al-Ittihad that the agreement is an important and major step towards restoring stability in Sudan and strengthening the trend towards a civil and democratic transition. Convincing the broadest base of the Sudanese forces to join and support them, as well as their ability to overcome the difficulties, complexities, divisions and polarizations that surround the Sudanese scene, and cross towards a final agreement that paves the way for a safe and stable transitional period.
Sudanese journalist Hassan Ahmed Al-Hassan told Al-Ittihad that the objective reading of the agreement confirms that it responded to the demands of the street and the forces of resistance, and that any bidding on it is not tolerated by the current situation in Sudan, stressing that after announcing the terms of the agreement publicly, it was proven that there is nothing under the table. And that everyone acknowledged the fulfillment of the revolution’s demands and goals, and the fear became limited to non-implementation, which requires everyone’s commitment to the items that were signed.
Al-Hassan called on the opponents of the agreement to re-read it, build on it and join it, instead of being suspicious and betrayal, stressing that no political forces from inside or outside the revolution will be able to come up with anything better than what came in the “framework agreement” with the testimony of the international and regional community.
He pointed out that “the military showed remarkable flexibility and an explicit commitment to the international and regional community to withdraw from the political scene. As for the enemies of the revolution from the remnants of the previous regime who bet on the restoration of totalitarianism, they must realize that apostasy is impossible.”
In turn, Abdullah Massar, deputy head of the National Movement Forces, told Al-Ittihad that the framework agreement needs more work to be an acceptable agreement, as well as deep consultation on the final formula, to reach a national consensus that guarantees the participation of all, especially the political, civil and community forces and movements. The Sudanese writer and political analyst Siddiq Muhisi told Al-Ittihad that the “framework agreement” really expresses the goals of the Sudanese revolution, and that it is a positive step in a long way that requires commitment and insistence on implementing its provisions and applying them on the ground, stressing that the lesson is in implementation, and that fear of the details.
Sudanese writer and political analyst Zine El Abidine Salih told Al-Ittihad that the signing of the framework agreement is a historic shift in the Sudanese political scene, and a foundational step for setting the rules for democratic construction, calling on all Sudanese forces to work to support the agreement and hasten to join it, considering that “unity It is the guarantee that the agreement will reach its goals, achieve the aspirations of the people, and get Sudan out of its impasse at this critical time. Sudanese journalist and writer Khader Atta Al-Manan told Al-Ittihad that the “framework agreement” is an important stage in the “track of the Sudanese revolution” in order to establish a full civil state, and it can lead to the stability of Sudan and the achievement of the goals of its revolution, and among the advantages of the framework agreement is this presence and international support. His greatness, as well as the participation of a significant number of parties and entities in Sudan in signing it, and what came in the words of the signatories of heralding a new future in which the dreams of the Sudanese people for freedom, peace and justice will be realized.
Atta Al-Manan expressed his fears that the controversy over the agreement, the continuation of the conflict, and the inability of the Sudanese to unite will lead to a decline in the international community’s interest in Sudan, calling for action to involve the resistance committees and the movements of Abdul Wahid Nour and Abdul Aziz Al-Hilu in the agreement.
