Two people have been arrested for the violent death of a man and a woman this past morning in a fire on San Millán street in Logroño. The deceased were inside an old bank branch and, although initially it was thought that death had occurred due to the fire, emergency personnel immediately detected that there were signs of violent death in both bodies.
The call alerting about the fire at number 13 of this street in Logroño was received fifteen minutes before one in the morning. The intervention of Police and Firefighters was immediate. After finding the two bodies at the back of this former Bankia branch and verifying the signs of violent death, the investigation began.
As explained by Eduardo Esteban Pinillos, head of the Judicial Police brigade in La Rioja, just four hours later, around five in the morning, two men were arrested for their alleged involvement in these violent deaths. . They are two men aged 40 and 46 who are known to the Police because they have numerous records for crimes against property.
Although at the moment no further details have been given, it has been revealed that the arrest occurred on a public street, on the same street where the crime took place. It has also been insisted that it is not ruled out that there may be more arrests related to these events.
As explained by those responsible for the National Police, several people had been spending the night in this former bank branch for some time and the two deceased, the man and the woman, were among them. At the time of the events they were the only ones inside. The origin of the fire is currently being investigated and it has not been detailed at the moment whether it occurred before or after the deaths.
