Minister Cármen Lúcia also ordered the removal of a text that linked Lula to a businessman who humiliated PT
Minister Cármen Lúcia, from the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) ordered the removal of false publications stating that Luiz Inacio Lula da Silvacandidate for the Planalto by the PT, planned an attack against the president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
The fake news was spread on Facebook, Twitter, Kwai and Telegram. In addition to Lula, he accused the Federal Supreme Court (STF) of orchestrating the alleged plan to kill Bolsonaro.
On social media, the information was falsely attributed to the PF (Federal Police). A delegate, the publications say, would have posted on Twitter that “The Federal Supreme Court and Lula would have ordered Bolsonaro to be killed”. Other publications link Lula to the stab wound against Bolsonaro in 2018.
“Publications are not political or legitimate criticisms. manifestation of thought. What we have is the dissemination of a message that is known to be lying, in offense to the image of the candidate”, said Carmen Lucia. Here’s the intact of the decision (49 KB).
Lula’s “Supporter”
The minister also determined the exclusion of another false publication against Lula. The texts, also published on social networks, link the former president to businessman Cássio José Cenali, who went viral by denying a lunch box to a woman who declared her vote for PT.
According to the publications, Cenali pretended to be a supporter of Bolsonaro, but in fact he would be a supporter of Lula. He would have denied the lunch box to try to harm the current president.
“The posts on the social networks of those represented present content produced to misinform. The message transmitted, as attested by the information and press verification agencies, is not supported by true facts.”, said the minister of the TSE. Here’s the intact of the decision (44 KB).
