Palestinian medical sources in the Gaza Strip confirmed that the conditions in hospitals in the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Strip, are “catastrophic and tragic,” warning of the death of a number of wounded and sick people as a result of repeated targeting, the lack of medical capabilities, and the running out of food. The sources indicated that “things are getting worse at Nasser Medical Complex and Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis.”
She continued: “The catastrophic situation in Khan Yunis hospitals threatens the death of many wounded and sick people as a result of targeting, the lack of medical capabilities, and the running out of food.” The medical sources called on the International Committee of the Red Cross and United Nations institutions to “protect Khan Yunis hospitals, protect those in them, and provide them with food and emergency needs.”
Since January 22, the Israeli army has launched a series of intensive raids on Khan Yunis, amid ground advances by its vehicles in the southern and western regions, prompting thousands of Palestinians to flee the city.
