Matteo lost his life in an accident in the mountains
A tragic accident in the mountains shocked the entire community of Assago on what was a day of celebration for everyone. On Thursday 25 April an avalanche swept away and took the life of Matteo Fornaciari. A serious young man with a passion for sport who left this world too soon. All friends and relatives rally around the family in this moment of extreme pain.
A trip with friends organized on a holiday turned into a real tragedy in the space of a few seconds. Matteo Fornaciari together with his brother and 8 other friends they headed in Valtellina for a day on the ski slopes. After reaching the summit, the group split up to descend to the valley. Five headed towards the Val Rosole while, Matteo together with his brother and other friends took the slopes towards the via Normale della Val Cedec. An avalanche releases from Cevedale crestthe three skiers with Matteo manage to dodge it while the twenty-six year old is overwhelmed.
His brother and friends rush to the scene to try to save Matteo. After calling for help they begin to dig with bare hands in the cold snow to find the young man. When rescuers arrive on site and manage to extract the body of Mattero Fornaciari from the snow they realize that there is nothing they can do for the young man. The news shocks not only Matteo's family but the entire community of Assago.
Through social media and the stories of those who knew him, we understand that Matteo was a boy attentive and serious. In several photos he is found on a kayak or on the ski slopes, a true lover of sports from the sea to the mountains without distinction. The memory published on Facebook by his canoe instructor who remembers him as a young man is touching willing and with his head on his shoulders. Matteo Fornaciari graduated in energy engineering at Politecnico di Milano, the young man had already been working for three years. A good and determined young man to achieve all his goals, who was not afraid of new challenges and trials.
