Tragedy in Andalusian regional football. El Palmar VR player José Manuel Rodríguez Rojas, better known as Chapi, died this Sunday at the age of 30 after being involved in a traffic accident.
He event took place this Sunday around 8:30 p.m., at kilometer 33 of the A-394 highway, when a vehicle left the road. Immediately, several witnesses who were in the area called 112 indicating that there was a vehicle on fire in the ditch. Medical assistance personnel quickly rushed to the scene, but could not do anything to save the footballer’s life.
“Without even being able to assimilate it, today we mourn the loss of our teammate and friend Chapi. A person who not only shone on the field, but also in life. His charisma, contagious energy and eternal smile filled with joy to those who were lucky enough to know him,” his team, El Palmar VR of the Second Andalusian regional team, posted on their X account this Monday confirming the tragic news.
